portrait tips

•For group portraits it is best to have everyone dress in coordinating outfits. I don’t mean for everyone to wear jeans and a white shirt. Pick 3-4 colors and have everyone wear those colors throughout their outfits. Also, don’t forget about your nail, shoes, and toes (when wearing sandals).

•I recommend bringing your own props to personalize your portraits. You or your child my have a favorite item that you want in your portraits. Examples; a favorite toy, hat, musical instrument, sport equipment, blanket, etc.

•When choosing your photo shoot location think about your interests. I have places in mind, but I want your photos to represent you and your family. Keep your eyes open for a wonderful old building or park by your workplace, home or church.

•If you would like to include your pets in your portrait, please arrive early to the photo shoot and walk your pet around. This will allow your pet to be relaxed during the photo shoot. I recommend that you bring your pet’s favorite toy to his/her attention while taking the photos. Please do not bring a toy that will get your pet so excited to leap out of position. You can also bring another person to stand behind me to attract your pet’s attention.
